Circuit Zandvoort wordt weer een volwaardig circuit. 1999 - 2019: Eindelijk de beloofde baanverlenging. Na vele jaren van juridisch getouwtrek wordt eind 1998 eindelijk begonnen met de bouw van het nieuwe circuit. In het voorjaar van 1999 wordt het geopend. Het bestaat voor de helft nog uit de oorspronkelijke layout uit 1948.

Tarzanbocht. Een van de meest beroemde bochten van Circuit Zandvoort is de Tarzanbocht. De bocht maakt al sinds 1948 onderdeel uit van het circuittraject en bevindt zich aan het einde van het rechte stuk. Dit is de bocht waar veel spectaculaire inhaalacties, maar ook crashes plaatsvinden omdat deze bocht een van de beste inhaalmogelijkheden biedt.

Circuit Zandvoort of CM.com Circuit Zandvoort [1] (om sponsorredenen), voorheen Circuit Park Zandvoort (tot en met 2016), is een circuit voor voornamelijk autoraces dat zich in de duinen ten noorden van Zandvoort bevindt, vlak bij de zee. Tussen 1952 en 1985 was het circuit met tussenpozen de locatie van de Grand Prix Formule 1 van Nederland.

Circuit Zandvoort werd in vroeger dagen ook gebruikt voor de jaarlijkse Tulpenrally, waarbij in tegengestelde richting werd gereden.. Een oplossing wordt gevonden in een oud plan uit 1978 om het traject te verleggen, hetgeen tevens een goede oplossing voor de geluidsproblematiek is. In januari 1987 stemde Provinciale Staten in met dit plan.

De eerste plannen voor een circuit in Zandvoort stammen uit 1930. Het duurde tot 3 juni 1939 toen voor het eerste een autorace werd gereden op een stratencircuit van Zandvoort. Deze race ging onder meer over de Van Lennepweg, die nu nog een van de belangrijkste toevoerwegen is naar het huidige circuit. Op 7 augustus 1948 vond de eerste autorace.

Formula 1 arrived in the Dutch dunes in 1952, with Alberto Ascari dominating the race as he led home a 1-2-3 for Ferrari. Formula 1 would go on to race on and off at the track until 1985 - before, in 2019, the announcement came that the championship would return to Zandvoort for 2020, after a 35-year hiatus.
